Jimmy Carter: 39th US President Dies at Age 100


The 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter, died on December 29, 2024, at the age of 100. According to the Wikipedia website, Carter died at his home in Plains, Georgia, after undergoing hospice care for nearly two years due to health problems. 

Carter is the longest living US president in history. He served as the 39th president of the US from 1977 to 1981. During his tenure, Carter was known for his policies focused on human rights and international peace. 

Carter is also known for his work after leaving the presidency. He founded the Carter Center, a non-profit organization focused on promoting democracy, human rights, and global health. Carter was also the recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. 

A state funeral will be held in Carter's honor. Funeral plans are being prepared, including a private memorial service in Plains, Georgia, and public tributes in Atlanta and Washington, D.C.. 

Carter's death led to changes in the list of living US presidents. Bill Clinton is now the longest living US president, while Donald Trump is the oldest president-elect.
